AWSC and Commonwealth Secretariat Holds Consultative Meeting on Climate Action

The Commonwealth Secretariat representative Dr. Ruth Kattamuri held talks with the African Women Studies Centre on Climate Action. The consultative meeting led by Prof. Margaret Kobia focused on Evidence-Based Gender Mainstreaming and Monitoring and Evaluation of Policies and Programs on Climate Change and Biodiversity.

During the meeting held on June 9, 2023, at the University of Nairobi, the team explored opportunities for collaboration between the African Women Studies Centre UoN WEE Hub and the Commonwealth Secretariat on Climate Financing and investment, care labor, tracking progress on the participation of women in climate change and joint hosting of side events and collaborative action on climate change through the Africa Climate Week and Summit and CoP 28 events.
