Mukabi Kabira is a professor of Literature at the University of Nairobi and Director of the African Women Studies Centre. She is a writer, a literary critique, and a gender and policy analyst. She has taught oral literature for many years, carried out field work in many parts of the country and published widely. Her first publication done in 1984 has been translated in many languages and set the pace in the field of oral literature in our schools and in the region. Lucia Mary Mbithi is a senior Lecturer at the School of Economics, University of Nairobi. She has over 18 years of experience in quantitative and qualitative trade policy analysis and regional integration. Her work also includes areas of gender and development, gender gaps analysis, costing and policy linkages; gender and development, gender strategy development, mainstreaming gender in economic programming, gender, trade and development, gender and cross-border trade. She has undertaken policy analysis work to provide technical assistance to Governments of Kenya, EAC and COMESA countries. Dr. Agnes K. Meroka-Mutua is a researcher, teacher, gender equality advocate and human rights advocate. She is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Private Law, School of Law, University of Nairobi, where she teaches and supervises in the following areas: Law and Development; Gender and the Law; Human Rights Law; Disability Rights Law. She is a board member at the Africa Co-ordinating Center for the Abandonment of FGM (ACCAF); Member of the Research Team and Assistant Policy Co-ordinator, at the University of Nairobi, Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) Hub; Member of the Research and Training Team, University of Nairobi, Centre for Land Acquisition and Resettlement Studies. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the East African Law Journal, which is published by the University of Nairobi, School of Law. Dr. Samuel Wakibi holds a PhD. in Epidemiology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Master of Science (MSc.) in Population Studies, University of Nairobi, and Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Statistics and computer science (University of Nairobi). He has been instrumental in the development of a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) plan for community health services and strengthening of Community Health Information System (CHIS) and health referral monitoring system for Kenya’s Ministry of Health (MoH). With IntraHealth, he led the development and implementation of Human Resource for health Information System (HRIS) for Ministries of health in Southern Sudan, Kenya, Swaziland, Uganda, Rwanda, and Lesotho.
