Policy Dialogue with Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) - 23rd May 2024

On Thursday, May 24, 2024, WEE Hub researchers involved in the AGPO program held a policy dialogue meeting with representatives from the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) at the PPRA offices.

The meeting aimed to discuss the recommendations taken by the PPRA following a February meeting where the WEE Hub presented a Policy Brief on the findings of their joint study. This study, conducted by the University of Nairobi's WEE Hub, the National Treasury, and the PPRA, focused on the AGPO initiative's impact on increased employment, promotion of local industries, and technology transfer.

The Key recommendations include;

1. Development of a Monitoring and Evaluation framework for the implementation of AGPO
2. Development of reporting guidelines for the Procuring Entities (PEs) to harmonize reporting and collect data that can facilitate impact tracking.
3. Development of a Policy to govern the implementation of AGPO
