Radio Dissemination Exercise with Richard Obiga on Social Protection Law - 9th December 2024

The African Women Studies Center (AWSC) WEE Hub invites you to tune in for an engaging and interactive discussion on KBC Radio English Service on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 8:00 am. The conversation will focus on the importance of social protection and what the Social Protection Policy and Law provides for Kenyans, with a special emphasis on how it impacts women’s economic empowerment.

This session will feature Richard Obiga, Assistant Director at the State Department for Social Protection and Citizen Affairs, who will shed light on the essential provisions of the policy and its significance for women in Kenya.

The UoN WEE Hub played a pivotal role in the drafting of the Social Protection Bill, currently under review. Through technical support and close collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Citizen Affairs and the State Department for Social Protection and Citizen Affairs, the WEE Hub contributed to the development of a framework that strengthens social protection for all Kenyans, especially women.
