Training of Researchers - Rapid Assessment for opportunities for WEE in Machakos County - 2nd Feb 2026
Researchers from the Women’s Economic Empowerment Hub and NEPAD successfully completed a comprehensive training session today, marking a critical step forward in the project "Rapid Assessment for Opportunities for Women's Economic Empowerment in Machakos County."
This pre-fieldwork training brought together the researchers who will be conducting data collection over the coming days. The session focused on:
- Thoroughly reviewing the study's research tools and methodologies.
- Ensuring all team members are fully familiar with and confident in using these tools.
- Internalizing the objectives and protocols to guarantee consistent, high-quality data collection.
The findings will directly inform the design of a targeted project aimed at advancing women's economic empowerment in Machakos County.
The initiative is a collaborative effort, implemented by the University of Nairobi Women's Economic Empowerment Hub and the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD).
Following today's preparatory training, our dedicated research team will embark on two days of rigorous data collection across three sub-counties in Machakos: Mwala Sub-county, Kangundo Sub-county and Masinga Sub-county.
