WEE Hub and Vital Voices Engage Forum
On Tuesday, 25th July, the Women’s Economic Empowerment Hub, in collaboration with Vital Voices Global Partnerships hosted an insightful forum at the University of Nairobi’s Main Campus.
Vital Voices Global Partnerships is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing women’s voices in leadership positions, firmly anchored on the belief that nations and communities cannot progress without their active participation.
Esteemed women political leaders from diverse countries participated in the forum, with the opportunity to share their experiences and address challenges they encountered during their respective political journeys.
Among the panelists were Beatriz Merino, the former Prime Minister of Peru, Dr. Nancy Baraza, the former Deputy Chief Justice of Kenya, Dalia Grybauskaite, the former President of Lithuania; and Prof Margaret Kobia, the former Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Youth, and Gender Affairs in Kenya. Alba Rueda, the Special Representative on Sexual Orientation in Argentina, and Nurhayati Ali Assegaf, President of Nuraa Women’s Institute in Indonesia.
Alyse Nelson, the President and CEO of Vital Voices Global Partnerships led the panel discussions, emphasizing the universal nature of barriers faced by women in leadership, transcending national boundaries and cultural differences.
The forum provided a unique platform for exchanging ideas, strengthening a shared determination to advance women’s empowerment, and creating a more inclusive and equitable world.
