WEE Hub Reflection and Graduation of Research Fellows - 11th April 2025
On Friday, April 11th, 2025, the University of Nairobi’s Main Campus hosted a momentous event celebrating two key milestones: reflecting on the five-year journey of the WEE Hub project and honouring the graduation of its Research Fellows.
Since its launch in December 2020, the WEE Hub has been a transformative force in advancing women’s economic empowerment through ground-breaking research and policy influence. Over the years, the project has produced impactful studies that have shaped policies at various government levels while directly improving the lives of hundreds of women through skills development, financial inclusion, and advocacy. Team members shared heartfelt reflections, describing the journey as remarkable and deeply fulfilling.
The event also celebrated the graduation of WEE Hub Research Fellows, who delivered powerful testimonies about how their involvement in the project had reshaped their perspectives and careers. Many spoke of the life-changing impact of working on women’s empowerment initiatives and pledged to carry forward the Hub’s mission in their respective fields, ensuring its legacy endures beyond the project’s closure later this year.
