Veronica, a dedicated fish trader from Busia, now enjoys access to affordable childcare services provided by the Busia Childcare Center, an initiative of the WEE Hub in collaboration with CCGD. Previously, Veronica faced the challenge of bringing her young child to the market daily due to a lack of childcare options.
On 24th June 2024, the WEE Hub team, led by Prof. Wanjiku Kabira, gathered at the University of Nairobi Campus to officially launch the AWSC Strategic Plan 2024-2029. The Strategic Plan, which outlines the key programs and initiatives for the next five years, was presented to the UoN Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama.
A team of WEE Hub representatives are in Busia for a five-day workshop with CCGD (Collaborative Center for Gender and Development) and Dhamira Moja to draft the County Gender Policy.
Representatives of the African Women Studies Center (AWSC) converged at the Swiss- Belinn Hotel (formerly Emory Hotel) on Friday 7th June 2024 to develop the center’s Strategic Plan. The AWSC Strategic Plan 2024-2029 maps out programs and expected activities to be carried out by the center over the next 5 years.
A delegation of scholars from the Faculty of Business Economics and Entrepreneurship from Serbia held talks with the African Women Studies researchers to explore opportunities for collaboration.
